The implementation of the project includes activities in the classrooms and laboratories as well as activities in the local community or nearby areas.

At school learning is promoted through the implementation of modules based on student-centred approaches such as project-based learning, discovery learning, and museum learning and through meetings with experts. Such methodologies require pupils to be active during the learning process and foster the acquisition of 21st century skills.

The meetings with experts pave the way for or are a follow-up activity of interviews in the local community and visits to local museums, libraries, craft workshops and areas of artistic, historical or environmental interest. They stimulate curiosity and critical thinking and lay the basis to plan further investigations in the area and beyond it.

The interviews with local people  have the aim of collecting memories of past traditions and to measure the impact of the project. Through them the pupils boost their communication skills and  learn to analyse data.

The connections with the tourist office and the museum give the opportunity to develop practical ideas to protect, preserve and promote the cultural heritage and offer a service to the community but also to learn to work in the sector and build a network of contacts that may turn out to be useful for the students when they enter the labour market.

Moreover while working in non-formal and informal settings the pupils reinforce the soft skills they have developed through learner-centred activities and the acquisition process is monitored and assessed with specifically-designed grids.
